is thriving at the school, and his mother would like to commit to long-term
(K-8) Jewish education. For more information on the family's situation, you may contact The Jewish Community Foundation.
$2000 was the original grant request; a grant of $500 has already been made
from a donor-advised philanthropic fund of the Foundation.
Funding request: $1500 from the Foundation to fulfill the original request
of $2000.

Temple Isaiah: Shining a Light on Mental Health
Temple Isaiah is planning a conference on mental health issues to be held on

acceptance, caring and compassion for people with mental illness. The conference
will include the sharing of wisdom from the Jewish tradition, from mental health
professionals and from the perspective of those affected by mental illness and
their families and caregivers. It will feature a keynote address, panels of
experts and the opportunity for break-out groups to address concerns such as
adolescent issues, mental health advocacy, treatment options and on-going support
groups in the Jewish community. The conference will be open to all Jewish communal
organizations in the East Bay.
Funding request: $3,000 from the Foundation to defray the costs of the
