We are pleased to introduce the 2008-09 East Bay Jewish Community Teen Foundation Board, made up of East Bay high school students making a difference through the realization of Jewish values:

Join our Board

If you're in 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade and want to gain valuable leadership skills and experience, bond with socially conscious Jewish peers, and make a difference through realization of Jewish values, we invite you to apply to become one of 22 members on this grant making board.

As a Board member, you will:

• Boost your leadership skills
• Connect with Jewish youth
• Expand your Jewish identity
• Debate tough choices
• Engage in social justice issues
• Attend a fun, inspirational and well-planned weekend retreat
• Participate in youth-led Foundation Board Meetings and skill-building workshops
• Become an effective grantmaker and strategic young philanthropist

Eligibility requirements:

1. You must be a 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grader who identifies yourself as Jewish.
2. You must have performed community service.
3. You must be willing to contribute at least $100.00 to the pooled fund from your own personal resources, or from funds you will raise
4. You must have checked with your family and have made yourself available to attend several Teen Foundation Board events (dates to be determined; contact us for more information).
5. You understand that attendance is required at all sessions, barring unforeseen illness or emergency, in which case, you agree to contact the Program Director in advance of the meeting.
6. You must be a resident of Alameda or Contra Costa counties.
7. You must be able to attend the Teen Foundation Board events listed below.
